K1 Technologies connecting rods are manufactured with optimized strength and weight characteristics in mind to deliver reliable performance. Forged from 4340 steel, K1 rods featured a shot-peened surface finish which smooths surface blends and reduces potential stress profiles. K1 connecting rods are held to strict quality standards and undergo magnetic particle testing to ensure material properties are free of flaws. Each rod is also subject to bore tolerance compliance, holding them to +/- .0001? after finishing. Additionally, K1 rods are balanced and tested to be within +/- 1 gram per end. A dual-ribbing design on the rod caps of K1 connecting rods helps maximize strength and allows the rod big end to maintain roundness as engine RPMs increase. Full-floating, precision-honed bronze bushings are fixed into the small ends of the rods for low friction and high wear resistance. Fitted with ARP 2000 rod bolts rated at 200,000 psi tensile strength for most applications, K1 connecting rods deliver an industry-leading combination of strength and value.

They are made to our designs and are held to some of the tightest accepted tolerances in the racing industry. More attention is shown to finish work than comparable products. A wide variety of sizes and applications are available, from the Sport Compact sizes through Small Block and Big Block Chevy and Mopar, including some custom and specialty sizes. Our unique design, which is original to the K1 Technologies line of connecting rods, saves weight without sacrificing strength. We use ARP bolts exclusively.
Quality and Materials
Premium 4340 steel is used to manufacture all our connecting rods and crankshafts. We only use ARP fasteners, with ARP 2000 included standard and 625+ Custom Age bolts available as an upgrade. Bearing bore tolerances are held to +/-.0001". Bronze bushings allow for a full-floating pin. Press-fit pins are available on some rod sizes.
